Burnham On Sea Lighthouse
Intro: A walkable Gaussian Splat of Burnham-on-Sea Low Lighthouse, an 1832 Grade II listed wooden lighthouse standing on stilted legs on the beach at Burnham-on-Sea in the Bristol Channel. The structure remains an active aid to navigation.
Standout feature: Captured by drone and presented as a walkable scene as well as a fly-over orbit. Move through the model at human scale, around and beneath the structure, to examine the timber legs, weatherboarded cladding and bracing detail, with the ground and steps acting as natural guides.
-

Bazalgette Embankment Lions / 3D
Intro: A photogrammetric mesh model of a restored Victorian bronze lion mooring ring on the new Bazalgette Embankment at Blackfriars, London. Originally sculpted by Timothy Butler in 1868 for Sir Joseph Bazalgette's embankment works, now accessible and restored as part of Tideway's Thames super sewer project, with the new embankment designed by Hawkins\Brown.
Standout feature: Captured handheld from around 350 photographs in approximately 15 minutes. Orbit the lion to examine Butler's casting detail and the bronze patina, remarkably well preserved after more than 150 years.
-

Modern House Extension / 3D
Intro: A photogrammetric mesh model of a residential property and modern extension designed by Portal Architecture, captured near completion with external works still in progress. The model covers the full house including the new extension with its eco upgrades.
Standout feature: Captured in bright, low sunlight, this model shows how strong directional light creates high contrast and hard shadows across surfaces. It's a useful example of how lighting conditions at the time of capture affect the final result, and why overcast days typically produce more even, readable 3D documentation.
-

Jolliffe Column / 3D
Intro: A photogrammetric mesh model of the Jolliffe Column, Somerset. a Grade II* listed Victorian prospect tower designed by Joseph Jopling in 1853, rising 50 metres from Ammerdown Park as a memorial to Thomas Samuel Jolliffe MP.
Standout feature: This capture demonstrates traditional mesh reconstruction, compare the surface quality, edge definition, and texture rendering against 3D Gaussian Splatting to understand the practical differences between these two approaches to 3D documentation.
-

Heritage House / 3D
Intro: A 3D Gaussian Splat model of a rectory property converted and updated by Portal Architecture, capturing the exterior and surrounding grounds.
Standout feature: The dense tree cover around this property shows where Gaussian Splatting handles organic forms well. Foliage and branch structures render with natural, photographic quality that mesh models typically struggle to reproduce.
-

Greenburrow Engine House / 3D
A 3D Gaussian Splat model of one of the pumping stations at Ding Dong Mine, Cornwall - a UNESCO World Heritage Site showcasing the region's industrial mining heritage through preserved granite engine house structures.
Standout feature: Interactive hotspots throughout the 3D model - click on various features to be automatically guided to them with information popups providing historical context.
-

Sky Labs Office / 360
Created for the architects to document Sky's award-winning 70,000 square foot innovation centre at their Osterley campus. The building houses technology engineers and creatives in large open plan spaces, captured while the facility remained fully operational.
Standout feature: Demonstrates that 360° tours can capture occupied, active workspaces rather than requiring sterile, empty environments - showing how to handle people moving through large spaces while maintaining tour quality.
-

Modular Townhouse / 360
A residential sector architects needed to showcase their innovative modular townhouse design to investors and prospective buyers. These compact two-bedroom homes are built off-site and craned into position.
Standout feature: Toggle between furnished and unfurnished views with a single button, allowing viewers to see both spatial potential and lived-in appeal without navigating separate tours.
-

The BOX Museum / 360
Plymouth's new museum, combining the historic 1907 Plymouth City Museum and Art Gallery with new extensions. The redevelopment houses 2 million items across galleries showcasing fine art, history, and maritime heritage.
Standout feature: View exhibitions and gallery displays, allowing remote visitors to explore museum collections and demonstrating how 360° tours can extend museum reach beyond physical visitors.
